Rea Williams, Sr.

Rea¬†received a B.S. in Building Construction in 1968 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia, and began his career in the construction industry. He is married with two sons, ten¬†grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and resides with his wife Macine in Lake Land’Or, Caroline County, Virginia.

Prior to establishing Williams and Wright Contracting Company in 1976, Mr. Williams worked as a project engineer and project manager for Williams Construction Company, Baltimore, Maryland, on various highway and heavy construction projects ranging from $3 million to $22 million. Mr. Williams worked in land planning and development for the same company during this nine year period constructing subdivisions, trailer parks, shopping centers and office building projects.

Together with partner Mack A. Wright, Jr., Mr. Williams established Williams and Wright Contracting Company in 1976, one of the area’s leading builders of custom homes and commercial building projects. After the retirement of Mr. Wright, Mr. Williams, President and C.E.O., continued Williams and Wright Contracting Company under the new name of Williams Contracting, Inc. constructing commercial and industrial building projects.

Other business interests include ownership interests in Countryside Children’s Daycare Center, a children’s daycare business with six locations based in Ladysmith Virginia; Countryside Properties, Inc., a development company; Lakeland Services Inc., a property management company; Village Self-Storage Partnership, LLP, a self-storage owner/developer; Village Flex Space, LLP, an office/warehouse development; Village Leasing, LLC, a daycare center building leasing company; and Ladysmith Medical Center, an office /retail building leasing company.

Mr. Williams is a past president and director of the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association, the local chapter of The National Association of Homebuilders. He is a current director and past state president of The Associated General Contractors of Virginia and a member of the Rappahannock Chapter of The Associated General Contractors. Mr. Williams is an active life member and current chaplain, past president, and past captain of the Ladysmith Volunteer Rescue Squad. He is a past member of the Caroline County Building Code Appeals Board, a member of the Caroline County Business Roundtable, and is a church member, choir member, and building committee member at Beaverdam Baptist Church, Beaverdam, Virginia.
